During my recent trip to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , We managed to take a day in order to drive over to something I’ve always wanted to see: The Hoover Dam!
It’s really hard to comprehend just how massive the thing is! I don’t think my photos could fully capture what 2500 cubic miles a lot of concrete actually looks like.
Fixed because I suck at math.

The Hoover Dam contains 4,360,000 cubic yards including adjacent powerplant and related structures. That’s 0.000
8 cubic miles, not 2500.

I’ve never seen it at ground level. I’ve flown over and around it multiple times when a friend and I would rent a Cessna, but never in a car or motorcycle.

And...that’s why I became a photographer and not an engineer.

Hoover dam is cool. Did the inside tour the last time I was there - kinda claustrophobic! And now that the big new bridge is open getting to the visitor’s center isn’t such a traffic mess.
